Soup Off is a social occasion to bring people together, to ward off the 'Winter Blues' and to welcome in winter instead. A fun way to compete in a friendly environment with friends for the chance to win the pièce de résistance, the silver ladle.

You can also run them at work, or a club, any where in a social environment.

In 2019, we couldn't wait a whole other 12 months to host another one so we introduced 'Dessert Off ' with all the same principles, just in summertime and a delicious dessert.

Supporting Charity

Each participant pays a minimal sum of money that is then donated to the Black Dog Institute via our charity hub here on the website.

It's super simple, affordable way of having a fun social gathering with friends, family and colleagues. Click here to read just how easy it is to get involved.

Our History

2004

Melinda Adams

Mel (1967 - 2016) began hosting SoupOff in 2004 as a way of counteracting the negative effects winter had amongst her friends and neighbours.

2016

Mel Passes From Cancer

She ran a SoupOff every year up until her final year at which point her husband, Frank, took over.

2018

Website Launched

Whilst Mel's magnetic and influential personality could no longer be experienced in person, it lived amongst her peers as they came together again to laugh, to cry and best of all reminisce. But most of all more and more wanted to know how they can get involved.

2019

Covid-19

Who in the world could have prepared us for what was coming in 2019. Health and safety meant no SoupOff was hosted this year.

2020

We're Back On!

And for what turned out to be an ever so brief moment we were able to sneak in a SoupOff party at least for one year.

2021

Website Relaunch

As we're all too familiar 2021 was even worse with regards to lockdowns, we knew that once it was all over, we were all going to need some relief from the black dog. The new website was designed and donated to us by Irez Enterprise.

2022

The Future

That's where you come in, host a party when you can, share your photos with us, share any donations, share the love, warmth and happiness.

FAQ

There's no minimum or maximum amount, and by all means host a free event if that suits you. After all, the primary goal is to help prevent mental illness and promote wellbeing. If you and your peers are in a position do so, we suggest anywhere from $5pp upwards.

After collecting the funds from your guests please use our donation portal and fill in your details. 100% of the funds go to the Black Dog Institute our chosen charity partner. Click here to find out more about BDI.

Absolutely, there are so many wonderful and deserving charities out there. Let us know your preferred charity, if we get enough enquiries perhaps we can set up a partnership with them too.
